HMD

I will likely have no idea I am making you happy/sad/angry/afraid/confused/frustrated/feel ignored unless you tell me. Likewise have no idea whether you think I am playing Annah appropriately unless you tell me what you think I am doing wrong--or right.

Feedback in particular on whether I am balancing an appropriate level of Sigil cant to normal, comprehensible speech would be nice.

Post here or pm me please. Comments should be screened.

Backtagging: DO IT. I consider play-by-post format to mean there's plenty of wiggle room for time for responses.
Threadjacking/Threadhopping: Sure, although if you're not sure due to specific circumstances, by all means ask.
Fourthwalling: I am okay with characters who would be into D&D to recognize placenames and creatures she references, as well as her Sigil Cant slang, to be from D&D (the Planescape setting in particular). And also of course similar settings that would reference such places, as Planescape uses a lot of stuff straight from mythology, and then other shows use that mythology, etc. But please do not to 4th wall her or the events of Planescape: Torment directly. In other words:

OKAY: "You're a tiefling? Like a human with demonic ancestry? I thought those were only in D&D."
NOT OKAY: "Oh, dude, I played Torment, and I sold you into slavery. I hate anyone with the Chaotic Neutral alignment."

Fighting: Sure thing. Just no godmodding please. Also, be fair when assessing her abilities versus yours (I will do my best to do the same). She is good at fighting that she should be a relative threat to most normal characters and to many exceptional ones (but she is certainly not invincible or unstoppable). It's boring if we all just dodge each other's blows.
Injuries: Also fine, and probably likely.
Killing: Please check with me first.
Telepathy/Mind-reading: Yes, but please let me know when you are doing it. I.e., you can assume you succeed, but still make sure I know that's what's going on.
Mind Control: Always check with me first, please.

Trolling/Teasing: Sure, and be assured she will respond in kind and then some.
Hugging: You can TRY, but be aware she may try to stab you in response (as long as of course it's okay for me to attack your character...) In other words, I as a player am okay with it, she as a character may not be.
Flirting: Fine. Depending on the circumstances and the context she may either flirt back or stab you. Or both.
Kissing or other intimate actions: For brief kissing/mild affection, fine, but again of course be warned about the stabbing. For anything more intimate, please check with me (beyond the normal reasons, I have to remind you about the part where she catches fire. Yes, you read that correctly). And nothing graphic, please.

Notes: Annah herself can be trollish and violent, and by all means if I've crossed a line, IC or OOC, please let me know via PM. My HMD post also should be just above this one.

Character Description for other players' reference

Physical Description: Annah is a petite woman who would look entirely human were it not for her rat-like tail. The bizarrely too-white skin doesn't help either. She has short red hair and bright green eyes and a nearly ever-present sneer on her face. Her canon clothing, such as it is, is a leather body suit with angular holes regularly cut throughout, with metal and hide protective armor all down her left arm and leg. A pair of punch daggers, made from welding knife blades to brass knuckles, rest in sheaths on her thighs. She has a long dragon tattoo on her right thigh.

Brief Background: The text below this cut contains SPOILERS for the 1999 game Planescape: Torment )

Special Abilities and Powers: Annah is a tiefling, a human with fiendish ancestry. As such she has exceptional vision in the dark and is resistant to fire and cold. Her skin is hot to the touch--she says her state of little clothing is for the purposes of ventilation--and when she is under certain kinds of excessive emotional duress, she actually self-immolates (with no harm to herself, but that can't be said for any persons or objects unfortunately nearby).

(Technically her "vision in the dark" would be "infravision" because she's an AD&D tiefling, but I think it's a little easier to implement and RP the idea of "darkvision" instead.)

Skills: Annah is a first-class thief, absolutely silent when she moves ("like a shadow I am," she says when she's asked to behave stealthily, and she's right), and skilled at picking pockets, picking locks, and disarming traps. She fights with a pair of punch daggers, easily drawn and easily concealed, and she is skilled at jamming them in vital and painful spots.

Stats: For whatever they're worth, Annah's original stats in the game (AD&D Second Edition): Chaotic Neutral Tiefling Fighter/Thief (by the end game I think she's usually around level 15/15 at least). Strength 14 Dexterity 18 Constitution 16 Intelligence 12 Wisdom 9 Charisma 13 (with stats usually boosted further with equipment and leveling). Usually by endgame she is crazy specialized in fist weapons (her punch daggers) and has a backstab multiplier capable of killing major demons in one blow.

This is all nice, but what the fuck is she saying?: Annah speaks with a slang called Sigil Cant, based on actual 19th century thieves cant. People who would understand 19th century thieves cant and players of Dungeons and Dragons may be able to understand some of what she's saying. I try to not overuse it or when I do use it, try to make it clear what she's saying from context, but there is a comprehensive glossary here for your edification.
